Find name of existing database file
Normally the file will be located in the C:\FlowAccessPostV3\DB folder but it can also be located in the C:\FlowAccesPostV3\Data folder.
Look for the files <database name>_data.mdf and_Log.ldf and make note of the database name. Additionally if you have a database backup file then make a note of that file name as well, in the example below it is FlowAccessV3.bak.
Install a dummy database
Run the InstallDatabase utility located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\FlowAccess V3 or C:\Program Files (x86)\FlowAccess V4 folder.
On the Welcome screen, select Next.
Change the default server name to <computer name>\Skalar2019
Use the sa account password. Default Skalar uses Lobby@123. If you changed that during the installation and/or changed password requirements, use the password that was set up. If you don’t know the sa password, the the best option is to reset the sa password.
On the next screen, enter the same login and password previously entered.
Create the dummy database
If you are using a SANCompact, Classic, or Advanced unit with a touchscreen, make sure to select SFA 2.0.
In the previous step, a backup database was created in C:\FlowAccessPostV3\DB.
If the database has been properly backed up and is working, then you can use that one. Otherwise, select the default empty database in the C:\Program Files (x86)\FlowAccess V3 folder.
Once you are ready, click Next and the Dummy database will be installed.
You should see this screen, hit next and start the FlowAccess software.
Once logged into FlowAccess software, go to File/Update Configuration Settings
In the FlowAccess INI file settings change the ‘Catalog = Dummy’ to Catalog = ’ your existing, working database name. In our example the existing name was FlowAccessV3 so it would be ‘Catalog = FlowAccessV3’.
Then press the update button and restart the software.
