Method Actions
Prime - clean valve and pump with selected solvent(s)
Solvent(s) are drawn through valves 1 and 2 into the pumps and then pushed out into the top waste instead of flowing through the SPE columns. This can be used to fill or clean solvent tubing.
Elute - pre-condition or wash cartridge with selected solvent(s)
Solvent(s) are pushed through the SPE columns into the bottom waste 1 or 2. The difference between Elute and Collect is that Collect will push solvents into Fraction 1 or Fraction 2.
Add Sample - load sample onto SPE cartridge or disk
Sample(s) are drawn and pushed through the SPE columns and then into the bottom waste 1 or 2.
Collect - elute with selected solvent(s) and collect eluent in the specified fraction tubes.
Solvent(s) or samples are pushed through the SPE columns to elute analytes into Fraction 1 or 2. Collecting from sample is used when rinsing of sample containers is performed, and the rinsate needs to be collected.
Air-Purge - use air to purge residual fluid through columns into fractions/waste or to mix samples.
Outside air is drawn in and then pushed into sample containers (e.g., For pushing remaining rinsate into the sample bottle) or delivered through SPE columns into fractions or waste. An air purge can also be used to mix samples after manually adding internal standards.
Blow N2 - blow nitrogen for a set time or until the user manually triggers the next step.
The “Time-based” option will turn on nitrogen blowing for the set time. The “Manual resume” option will continue nitrogen-blowing until the operator presses “start” to resume.
Rinse - rinse sample containers
If "Shake during rinse" is selected in the settings menu, and the sample is mounted using ADD-002 with upside-down mounting, then the resonators will shake the bottles during rinse.
Clean - deliver selected solvent(s) into sample containers, optionally followed by an air purge to clear the lines.
This step may be used for manual rinsing or cleaning sample lines. The system delivers selected solvent(s) to the sample containers.
Shake - activate the resonator for a set time or until the user manually triggers the next step.
The “Time-based” option will turn on the resonator for the set time. The “Manual Resume” option will turn on the resonator until the operator presses “start” to resume. A loud “beep” is triggered when using the “Manual Resume” option to get the operator’s attention. See the settings menu to set the shaking strength
Wait - pause run for a set time or until the user manually triggers the next step.
The “Time-based” option will pause the system for a set time. The “Manual resume” option will continue pausing until the operator presses “start” to resume. A loud “beep” is triggered for the “Manual Resume” option to get the operator’s attention.
Pump-Cln - rinses pump syringes and plungers with solvent(s) and delivers to fractions or waste.
This step may be used if the system is contaminated with very high sample concentrations. “Clean” action should be sufficient for normal operations.
Boost - Moves liquid in the cartridge sorbent back and forth.
The Boost action may only be used immediately following the Add Sample, Elute, or Collect actions. The Boost action can be used to improve interaction with the cartridge sorbent to help with adsorption or elution.
