Software Compatibility

Software version 1.100 and later is fully compatible with Windows 11.

Upgrade Procedure

To ensure a smooth and safe upgrade to Windows 11, please follow the steps below:

Create a Backup
• Navigate to the current SkalarRobotics folder.
• Make a full backup of the folder, naming it with today’s date.
• Store the backup in the designated backup location for future reference.
Move Analyses Folder
• Open the Analyses folder within SkalarRobotics.
• Move all contents of the Analyses folder to the backup location.
• If a new Analyses folder doesn’t already exist in the backup, create one and place the files there.

Restore from Backup
• If the problem continues, locate the most recent working backup in the backup folder.
• Within that backup, navigate to the bin directory, then open Release and scroll down to SkalarRobotics, and click on the executable.
Copy Backup Files
• If the software launches correctly, copy the entire SkalarRobotics folder from the backup to the C:\ drive.
• Rename this folder SkalarRoboticsnew.
• Then, copy the 2025 Analyses folders from the backup and paste them into the 99xxxxxx subfolder of the newly created SkalarRoboticsnew folder.
Skalar Robotics
• If there is an existing SkalarRobotics folder on the C:\ drive, it can be moved – or removed only if a backup has been created.
• SkalarRoboticsnew can now be renamed to SkalarRobotics.
Common Issues to Watch For:
COM Port Changes: If COM ports are reassigned during the upgrade, the software may fail to recognize the correct ports. Ensure that the COM ports of the robot and meter have not changed, as this could result in errors.
Missing Files: In some cases, Language Services may be deleted during the upgrade. If this happens, you will need to reinstall the software.
