Purging any solvent lines that contain salts and/or buffers at the end of the day help prevent the salts from precipitating at the valve. These salt crystals can accumulate and lead to valve scratching and leaks. If left, this can cause further system errors.

To perform line purging, play the following method. This method can be saved on the system for future use.

Prime w1	Solvent #	10	5	Draw 5 mL of air through the solvent line and push through to top waste
Wait	Manual Resume			Program will automatically pause. Transfer the solvent line from an empty container to a bottle of clean water.
Prime w1	Solvent #	10	10	Draw 10 mL of water through the solvent line and push through to top waste
Wait	Manual Resume			Program will automatically pause. Transfer the solvent line back to the empty container.
Prime w1	Solvent #	10	5	Draw 5 mL of air through the solvent line and push through to top waste
